Anxiety is something that will affect one in three of us over the course of our lifetime, but what is it really? How do we recognise, manage and, eventually, overcome it?
With these questions in mind, four weeks ago I embarked on a four part series with Drivetime on RTE Radio 1, which aimed to demystify anxiety.
Drawing from research and the knowledge I have gathered over the course of my career as a clinical psychologist, I looked at a different form of anxiety each week. I also shared tips and helpful resources to help tackle anxiety.
In doing so, I wanted to remind people that suffering from anxiety is not a personal failure, and certainly does not mean that the person is 'broken'.
